Introductory Note

Some years fly by without leaving much behind. Days stack into weeks, weeks slip into months, and before we know it, the calendar has turned without a single moment that truly made us pause. Orbit 12 was born from our wish to slow that cycle down — not to stop time, but to make it richer. We wanted each month to feel like a chapter worth reading, a place to explore a different side of life.

Here, every month is its own world. One month might take us deep into the evolving universe of technology — from the latest AI tools to ways we can create healthier boundaries with our digital lives. The next could be about the quiet power of self-discovery, or the joy of simplifying our surroundings. We might spend a month learning to live more sustainably, another chasing adventures across cities, mountains, or even our own neighborhoods. By the end of the year, we’ll have traveled through twelve distinct landscapes of ideas, skills, and experiences — without ever losing sight of the bigger picture: growth, connection, and curiosity.

We see Orbit 12 as more than just a blog. It’s a space for conversation, for trying something new, and for reflecting on the kind of lives we want to create. Some months will challenge you to step outside your comfort zone. Others will invite you to slow down and look closer at the everyday. All will be guided by the belief that a well-lived year is one made of intentional moments.

Whether you join us in the middle of the year or on the very first month, you’re part of this orbit now. And like any good journey, it’s not about rushing to the end — it’s about enjoying each turn around the sun, learning from every stop, and carrying those lessons forward into the next.

So, welcome aboard. Let’s see where this year takes us.

With curiosity and creativity,

Agastya Kilachand, Nyrika Mehta & Jaiveer Talwar

Month One: Technology

We chose to begin our journey with technology because it’s the orbit we’re all already part of, whether we like it or not. From the phones in our hands to the algorithms shaping what we see, technology is woven into the smallest details of our daily lives. It’s powerful, exciting, and sometimes overwhelming — which makes it the perfect place to start. This month, we’ll explore both sides of the coin: how new tools like AI are transforming creativity, work, and connection, and how we can set healthier boundaries in a world that never really switches off. Technology can be a bridge, but it can also be a barrier — and the challenge is learning how to make it serve us, not the other way around. Through stories, reflections, and experiments, we’ll ask: How can technology help us grow? Where does it hold us back? And what does it mean to live intentionally in a digital age? So here’s to Month One. A deep dive into the orbit of technology — not just the machines we build, but the impact ...
